Optigentin

Optigentin

Antibiotic Ophthalmic Gel

Optigentin is an ophthalmic gel for the treatment of gentamicin-sensitive ocular infections in dogs, cats, and horses.

Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic and is bactericidal by irreversible inhibition of protein synthesis. It is active against Gram-positive organisms and most Gram-negative bacilli, including strains of Pseudomonas and Proteus which may be resistant to other antibiotics. Its wide spectrum of antibacterial cover makes it an effective topical treatment in both primary and secondary bacterial infections of the eye and surrounding tissues.
